Securing a job these days is a tough nut to crack. With competition becoming more and more intense, it has become important to be aware of the do’s and don’ts of an interview
It is seen that due to some or the other reason, when the candidate gets late for the interview, he comes up with lame excuses. It is always better to reach at least 10 minutes early and set yourself ready for the important day.
THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR BEING LATE.
No matter how your current company or boss is treating you, it is always better to keep it to yourself. Expressing any negative comment may give an assumption that it is difficult for you to get along with people easily and that you spread toxic things about people and organization.
When asked about your weakness, don’t ever say you don’t have any or you are a perfectionist. It is because it does not gives insight about your working style or your behavior and gives an assumption that you are lying as you do not want to reveal your real weakness.
Having no question to ask gives a view that either you have not done any prior research related to the interview or you are not keen on securing a position for yourself. It is always good to ask relevant questions to the interviewer to show that you are in the right spirit.
Asking such questions even before you have secured a position in the company gives an assumption that you are arrogant.
Salary is usually offered after one has secured a position. If the interviewer has not come up with questions related to salary, it is better not to ask about it on your own.
Even though you are extremely nervous, it is better not to express it as It will give an insight that you lack confidence and working under pressure is not your cup of tea. Companies like to hire people who can manage stress and can be a great team player.
You should always stick to the importance of the interview and should keep your answers crisp. Giving exaggerated and irrelevant answers might spoil your chance of getting selected.
Although you might be stuck with some personal problems, but asking for such an option will make the interviewer question your work ethics and principles, and will not make him trust you which will make it difficult for you to secure that position.
These were few commonly committed blunders by the interviewees and by avoiding them, one can definitely stand chances of cracking the interview.
