We dress up daily. For college, for offices, for going to a party etcetera. But, many a time we face trouble keeping the dress in the position it ought to be. Worry not!! We are here to rescue your looks with few hacks that will keep the dress you are carrying, the way it should be. “HACKS” are popular because they are the ingenious ways of solving the problems. Check out these ridiculously simple fashion hacks that will make your life easier. We’ve included dress hacks that can be used by males as well as by females, but few of them can be more beneficial for males and few for females, hence, we’ve divided the post into two sections: Dress Hacks for Males and Dress Hacks for Females. Starting off with dress hacks for males…
1) STOP A ZIPPER FROM UNZIPPING
Use a key ring to secure the zipper to the button on your pants. Simply attach the keyring, zip up your pants, and place the keyring over the button. Then, button your pants like normal.
2) KEEP YOUR DRESS SHIRT TUCKED IN
It’s frustrating when the shirt comes untucked from your waistline. In addition to wearing a belt, you should perform THE MILITARY TUCK. It involves folding and tucking excess fabric from the sides of your shirt into your pants’ waistline. It secures the shirt in place
3) ROLL YOUR SHIRT SLEEVES THE RIGHT WAY
Flip the cuff back and pull it to just below your elbow. Then take the bottom (inside-out portion) and fold it up so it traps and covers the bottom cuff. Your shirt sleeves won’t unroll again and it will hit the perfect place on your elbow.
4) HOW TO TELL IF YOUR SHIRT FITS
If you sit down and your shirt buttons pull, the shirt doesn’t fit you. Time to get a size up. If your shirt does not fit square on your shoulders, it also does not fit you. Time to get a size down.
5) POLISH YOUR SHOES WITH A BANANA PEEL
Rub the banana skin all around the dirty shoes. Then take a soft cloth and buff the shoes.
1) HIDE THE GAPS BETWEEN THE BUTTONS
The gap between the buttons of a shirt can be tamed with double-sided tape. Simply place the tape in between the buttons wherever you experience a gap. Just be sure to remove the tape before throwing your garment in the washer and dryer as it may leave a sticky residue on your clothing.
2) REMOVE YELLOW SWEAT STAINS FROM WHITE SHIRTS
Apply pure lemon juice to the entire stained area and let the clothing sit in the sun for an entire day. As soon as you bring the clothing inside, wash as normal by hand or in a washing machine to remove the lemon juice.
3) STRETCH YOUR TIGHT SHOES
Put a baggie of water in your shoe and toss it in the freezer to stretch it a bit.
4) STOP A LOOSE BUTTON FROM COMING OFF
Paint a bit of clear nail polish over the loose button thread and it will be stopped from unraveling.
5) HEM YOUR PANTS WITH DUCT TAPE
All you have to do is to turn the pants inside out and stick the duct tape where you want the hem to be.
Do tell us if you find these helpful. Happy Dressing!!
